Featured activities

The IF/THEN® Gender Representation Toolkit is a packet of materials designed to help your institution collect data on the representation of gender in the images and videos displayed in your museum content, including exhibits, websites, program materials, signage, and more. This data can be used to inform changes at your museum, and contribute to a field-wide report on the state of gender representation in science centers. Learn more.

The Collaboration for Ongoing Visitor Experience Studies (COVES) is designed to unite museums across the country to systematically collect, analyze, and report on visitor experience data. The system is designed to allowing museum leaders to make data-informed decisions, while providing relevant points of comparison within our industry. Learn more.

Re-think
Re-frame
Re-open

Re-think, Re-frame, Re-open. As science and technology centers and museums plan for re-opening after mandated closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they will be confronted with a number of challenges that require thoughtful consideration and planning. ASTC is hosting a series of informal small-group discussions to support peer-to-peer sharing around these timely topics. Learn more about this series and also check out all our upcoming and recent virtual events.

ASTC is planning for changes in our association’s Annual Conference this October, including expanding our offering of virtual gatherings to connect and support our members and to continue facilitating learning and sharing across our entire community. Given the changing global circumstances related to the current pandemic, continue to check the ASTC website for updates on the conference schedule and more details about how to participate both in-person and online.

If you had previously submitted a session proposal for the ASTC 2020 Annual Conference, our Conference Program Planning Committee will be taking a second look at proposals and working with presenters of approved sessions to adapt them for our current context and anticipated online formats.

Because our scheduled conference would have taken place over a weekend, we are working on adjusting our schedule to accommodate as much participation as possible. Please save the date for October 19-21, 2020 with preconference intensives being planned for the week of October 12-16, 2020. We will be opening up registration over the summer with more details.
